Summary

Have you ever wondered how the constellations got their names?

In this interactive session:

  • Youth will investigate the myths or stories behind specific constellations in the night sky.
  • Youth will work with their own cluster of stars to create a constellation and a story to go with it.
  • Youth will learn about current astronomical events, how to locate constellations in the night sky, and explore what they can find in the night sky right now.
This covers current events in the night sky and is relevant to October of 2020. This program can be requested for students or classrooms by contacting Angela Brisson at aebrisso@ncsu.edu for a live version of the current events of the night sky.
